UN General Assembly

What is UNGA?

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is the UN’s main policy-making convention. The 78th session (or UNGA 78) will be held during the month of September 2023 in New York. Comprising 193 Member States, it provides a unique forum for a joint discussion on the full spectrum of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations.

UNGA is not just about world leaders. It’s also a platform for the public – and public figures like Malala
Yousafzai
and Sir David Attenborough – to educate and inspire; a critical opportunity for all to come together and chart a course for the future.
