UN General Assembly
UN General Assembly
What is UNGA?
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is the UN’s main policy-making convention. The 79th session will be held during the month of September 2024 in New York. With 193 Member States, UNGA 79 serves as a unique forum for discussing a wide range of international issues under the United Nations Charter.
UNGA is not just about world leaders. It’s also a platform for the public – and public figures. In 2024, actor Don Cheadle and writer Amy Webb will join the UN and advocate for climate change and innovation.

UNGA and SDGs
The 79th session of UNGA will be a critical opportunity to urge global efforts towards the SDGs. During UNGA, world leaders will meet on the Summit of the Future and sign a new pact to reaffirm their commitment to the SDGs.
