What is UNGA?
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is the UN’s main policy-making convention, happening every year in New York City, USA. The 81st session of the General Assembly is scheduled for mid-September 2026 and will convene world leaders to discuss about global cooperation and push for the UN sustainable development goals. UNGA 81 serves a unique forum for 193 Member States to work together, under the United Nations Charter.
UNGA is not just about world leaders. It’s also a platform for the general public and public figures alike. Goodwill ambassadors, K-pop singers, young advocates and more all gather to New York to join the UN and advocate for the causes they care about: from peace to gender equality, from climate to prosperity to innovation.
